I think it might be cool, but I don't wanna get my hopes up. But the things I've been reading about it suggests that they're at least trying to keep it more in line with the elder scrolls games, which is good. Just the detail of being able to travel to places you see far off in the distance is really promising. I hadn't heard that you can have first person pov but if that's true then that's just awesome! You given any thoughts to as what you're gonna play as?
There is just one certainty: Azura (the woman/god with sun and moon) is good. Maybe. Any other characters is still grey. The diabolical Dagoth Ur, the Devil of Red Mountain? Maybe a vengeful and mad demigod, but isn't so bad. His purpose is correct. And Vivec, Almalexia, Sotha Sil? I hate them. Nah, I like Sotha Sil.
Like the three demigods of the Tribunal, their authoritarian religion is founded on appearance and deception. I loved the variety of Morrowind: there are four principal religions (Tribunal, Nine Divine, Daedric and Ancestor Worship) plus other minor forms of religion (like the Dissidents). There are different political view (Tribunal Temple and his Ordinators, Empire, Telvanni Lords ecc.) There are different form of economy, a particular society, a deep and realistic history... Is like a real world.
Well, maybe Skyrim delivers more fun from gameplay and exploration, but Morrowind has more creative and twisted locations, montsers, lore. Skyrim is great as it takes from Nordic culture and mythology, but it's more "normal" - I mean in Morowind you've got daderoths, cliff racers and other twisted things, when in Skyrim there are creatures and elements form our history - mammoths, sabertooths etc. But still, every TES is a legend of gaming itself.
Yeah I mean, I love skyrim too and especially how it takes from nordic culture etc since I am swede myself but morrowind is more twisted somehow, more exotic and more dark. And the main quest in morrowind is so much more epic than the main quest in skyrim. But I think the main part of why I love morrowind more is that it is so much nostalgia for me. It was the first computer game I ever played and I just have so much fond memories from playing it.
But I love elder scrolls overall and I am really looking forward to the online game.
Thank you! And yeah, morrowind is morrowind, it will always have a special place in the heart. For me it's a lot of nostalgia, since morrowind and never winter nights was the first two computer games I ever played.
